A real Android game-development project with an existing application foundation. The current gameplay is being evaluated, and a substantial redesign toward interactive simulation is planned. The full simulation is not yet complete.

The Concept

Planned Gameplay Features

The player is intended to take on the role of a Junior Security Analyst within a fictional technology company, investigating simulated computer systems, responding to suspicious activity and learning from the consequences of decisions.

Learn cybersecurity by interacting with simulated systems, investigating threats and making meaningful decisions.

The planned direction moves beyond conventional multiple-choice quiz gameplay toward investigating systems and responding to contextual scenarios.

Where the Project Stands

Existing application foundation

Under evaluation

  • An existing Android application foundation is available.
  • The current gameplay experience is being evaluated.
  • Appropriate existing components may be retained, while others may need refactoring.

Planned

  • A transition away from quiz-centered interactions toward a desktop-inspired cybersecurity simulation is planned.
  • The full simulation experience remains under development.

The Planned Experience

Planned Gameplay Features

Planned / MAIL

Phishing Mail Client

Players will investigate suspicious emails, examine potential phishing indicators and respond to threats.

Planned / AUTH

Password Authentication System

Players will explore password security and safer account-protection practices through simulated authentication.

Planned / COMMS

Communications Channel

Players will encounter planned scenarios involving impersonation, social engineering and suspicious requests.

Planned / PROC

Process Manager

Players will investigate simulated suspicious processes and potential malware incidents.

Planned / OSINT

OSINT and Privacy Scanner

Players will explore exposed personal information and understand digital footprints.

Planned / DATA

Data Classification and Server Router

Players will practise classifying information and selecting appropriate data-handling procedures.

Planned / POLICY

Compliance Review

Players will encounter decisions involving responsible technology use, cybersecurity policies, privacy and applicable cyber laws.

Decisions Have Consequences

Planned Gameplay Mechanic

Player decisions are intended to influence a Security Integrity indicator. During security missions, players will investigate incidents, choose responses, receive contextual feedback and monitor their performance.
